Job Summary
Responsible for the leadership, innovation, and management of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function to identify, mitigate, and monitor credit union risks. This position reports directly to the SVP / Chief Risk Officer at Mountain America Credit Union.
Job Description
To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
* Develops and maintains a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Works with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and department heads to identify changing risk patterns, including the development and monitoring of key risk indicators. Participates in periodic ERM meetings with the ERM committee, and presents periodically to the Board of Directors.
* Researches and communicates with CRO and to make revisions to the ERM program.
* Develops ERM tools and practices to analyze and report enterprise risks according to the ERM framework.
* Administers risk related programs, which involves analyzing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating risks affecting the business.
* Researches and communicates with the CRO recommendations for revisions to risk related programs within the credit union.
* Directs and manages the ERM risk assessment processes, requested risk reviews, model risk processes and issue management.
* Assures sound credit union financial performance in conjunction with the CRO by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and delivery systems to meet strategic long range objectives and annual goals while remaining responsive to a competitive and changing financial environment.
* Participates in and works with CRO to develop data for risk committee meetings.
* Develops and directs planned and off-plan requested ERM assessments.
* Develop and leads risk identification meetings and workshops.
* Creates and drafts documents, including training documentation relating to risk management programs.
* Directs the planning, designing, and implementing risk management process.
* Works with CRO to manage and report risk appetite and tolerances of the credit union.
* Participates in or assigns ERM team members to participate in IT change control meetings.
* Accountable for developing, implementing, and administering projects that gather and report on changes and trends within the analyzed data.
* Utilizes judgment and responsibility in fulfilling and managing team functions using the credit union policies and the hierarchy of decision making.
* Maintains current knowledge and ensures training and compliance of regulations as required by law, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, FACT Act, GLBA, Regulation CC (funds availability), Regulation DD (TIS) and other regulations as required by law as it relates to his/her position.
* Directs, develops, hires, manages, and coaches a high performing team.
* Directs multiple cross-functional project teams to deliver significant business results/deliverables.
* Directs definition and execution of team projects, establishes project plans, timelines, prioritizes workload, communicates progress and ensures on-time delivery.
* Develops and manages the department budget for assigned projects, monitors progress and adjusts resources/priorities as needed.
* Ensures team alignment with strategic goals and changing business needs.
* Builds relationships and works with business teams & leadership at all levels, to understand their respective strategies and help translate into deliverables.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Education/Experience
Master's Degree in business, finance, technology, risk management or related field with 5 years of experience working in business related field OR Bachelor degree in risk management, business, finance, technology or related field with 8 years of industry experience.
Eight years' experience working Enterprise Risk Management, financial audit or financial setting.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
CIA, ERM, or equivalent certification preferred
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.)
Advanced skills working with various ERM Software.
Managerial Responsibility
Has supervisory/managerial responsibilities that are direct or through work leaders or assistants, typically with a subordinate group of 3 to 15 employees. Estimates personnel needs and assigns work to meet these needs. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy. Includes senior department heads without staff.
Other Skills and Abilities
Five years in a leadership role managing and working with multiple, large cross-functional teams or on projects that deliver meaningful insights to internal and external customers.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization executive to frontline.
Self-starter with a high level of energy, motivation and ability to work independently mobilizing teams into action and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines.
Demonstrated ability to lead change processes to support the organization and business need.
Demonstrated experience using data to develop team and organization and informed decision making.
